Director - Welcome Venice

Born in Dolo (Venice) in 1976, Andrea Segre is a movie and documentary director. He directed three feature films, all presented at the Venice Film Festival: Io sono Li (Lux Award from the European Parliament); La Prima Neve (Grand Prix award at the Annecy Festival) and L’Ordine delle Cose (Tonino Guerra Award for best outline).
He has made numerous documentaries, including Come un uomo sulla terra (Best Documentary Nominee for the David di Donatello 2009), Il Sangue Verde (CinemaDoc Award at the Giornate degli Autori 2010), Mare Chiuso (Globo d’oro award for best documentary), Indebito (opening event at the Locarno Film Festival 2013), I Sogni del Lago Salato (Best Documentary award nominee at the Nastri d’Argento 2015), Il Pianeta in Mare (Official Selection – out of competition at the 76th edition of the Venice International Film Festival).
He’s a founding member of ZaLab, a workshop lab for production, distribution and socio-cultural action.
