The breathtaking beauty of the Alps provides the backdrop for Maura Delpero’s visionary film, which won the Silver Lion at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. This portrait of a sprawling family during the waning days of World War II follows a series of consequential events after the arrival of a taciturn Sicilian soldier who deserted the army. This was Italy’s Official Selection for the 2025 Academy Awards.
